Yes, the Mobirider™ beach wheelchair can go into the water, but when attempting to go into deeper water, where the chair floats, it is advised that a competent person assists, and a life jacket is used by the user of the chair as a safety precaution. The wheels are buoyant, but please stay near the shoreline as this is not a floatation device and the chair might tip over.

Wheeleez Beach wheels are specialized beach wheelchair wheels that are designed to make it easier to navigate on sandy terrain. They provide a soft ride over sand and minimal effort is needed when pushing or pulling the chair. The wheels also act as shock absorbers which ensures the users has a soft ride on all terrains. The Mobirider™ uses only Wheeleez beach wheels on their chairs.

Standard wheelchair wheels aren’t meant for soft sand, and normally sink into the sand making pushing very difficult or even impossible. A beach wheelchair is a special type of wheelchair that is designed to help people with physical disabilities go places over sand, which was previously inaccessible.

Beach wheelchairs are not hard to push as they are specially designed to maneuver over sand and/or difficult areas. Compared to a standard wheelchair on a flat firm surface, however, it may be a little heavier and could require some extra effort on soft surfaces.
